Jisoo, a member of the K-pop group BLACKPINK, is set to star in the upcoming South Korean romantic fantasy television series “Newtopia,” she will play the role of Yeong-ju, a young woman navigating a challenging relationship and facing the unexpected arrival of a zombie apocalypse.
“Newtopia” is based on the novel “Influenza” by author Han Sang-woon. It’s described as a blend of dark comedy, heart-wrenching romance, and zombie horror, set against the backdrop of a chaotic and unpredictable world.
The series is scheduled to premiere on Coupang Play in South Korea on February 7, 2025, and will also be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in selected regions.
Jisoo’s role in “Newtopia” marks a significant step in her acting career, following her previous performance in the Korean drama “Snowdrop.”
